About the Core

In 2018 we opened an internship camp at the Campo Grande Unit for Social Work students under the supervision of Social Worker Roberta Leite, and in 2019 we opened an internship camp at the Niterói Unit under the supervision of Social Assistant Kelly Souza.

The Center for Social Practice - Teaching, Research and Extension that seeks to promote better theoretical-methodological, ethical-political and technical-operative training, in addition to providing the student / intern to experience in practice everything he learned in the classroom, through of an area, still little explored, in Social Work courses, which is advisory and consultancy. Through this we will have professionals increasingly prepared and qualified to serve users. We see the importance of advice as an action that points out ways and strategies so that the other can intervene to the demand presented. That is why it is important for the advisor to have knowledge, qualifications, and guarantee his continued professional training, that is, permanent education. Reflection and deepening about the intervention of reality, taking into account the socio-historical context and the contradiction of social totality are important for the quality of professional practice. The Permanent Education Policy points out the importance of intellectual improvement, and according to the 1993 Code of Ethics, professional improvement guarantees a professional practice committed to the interests of users, thus guaranteeing the expansion and consolidation of rights. The correlation between training and professional practice, through theory / practice, is of utmost importance, and the Practice Center aims to improve teaching and learning as well as promoting discussions and exchange of experiences between students / interns and supervisors within advisory and consultancy.
